Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and pressed pendulum from around 1880, brass embossed oval ornamental plate and pendulum with depictions of flowers, ears of corn and oak leaves. The lower part of the pendulum has a sailing ship with a steam engine moving back and forth in time with the movement against a chased background. Half and full hour strike on bell with repetition of the full strike after 2 minutes. Date display. Enamel dial signed: A SCMIDER à Chatelleraut ( presumably a misspelling of the name: it should have read SCHMIDER. See also clock no. 418 CUM
