Nr. 390 CUM

Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and pressed pendulum from around 1880. Both the decorative plate and pendulum are marked CN DEPOSE. CN stands for the initials of Carl Neufeld from Iserlohn/Westphalia, who, after 1870, supplied embossed brass pendulums and decorative plates to the manufacturers in Morez. Strike on bell and tone spring, with the full hour strike repeating after 2 minutes on the bell, while the half-hour strike occurred on the tone spring with the full strike count, so that it was possible to distinguish between the half-hour strikes. This striking mechanism is extremely rare in Comtoise clocks.
