9-inch Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and lyre pendulum or folded pendulum from around 1870/1880, one-piece embossed decorative plate with a large flower amphora between 2 peacocks, marked by the German manufacturer Christian Neufeld CN with protective designation DEPOSE. After 1871, this German company based in Iserlohn delivered many protected decorative plates to the manufacturers of Comtoise clocks in the High Jura. Numerous models with the embossed initials CN exist.
Half- and full-hour strike on bell with repetition of the hour strike. Enamel dial signed: (qualité supérieure) ((best quality)) BELLOM fils à Saint-Brieuc. Contemporary brass hands.
