Large Comtoise MAYET longcase clock from the Louis XVI period, around 1785. 12-inch Comtoise clockwork with verge escapement and lead bob pendulum. Three weights, quarter striking (Grande Sonnerie) on four bells. Bowl-shaped enamel dial with a diameter of 315 mm. Upper and lower bronze decorative pieces (so-called "beard"). Fruit bowl above a cartouche with volutes and vine motif in the upper part. Sun face above the signature cartouche: P.F. Mayet with volutes and vine motif in the lower part.

Pierre Francois Mayet was born in 1750 in Morbier and passed away in 1822.
Massive wooden case in the Burgundy style, measuring 3.10 m in height. It consists of four parts that are simply stacked on top of each other and is made of walnut. The panels are crafted from burl wood.

A star with an encircling band was inlaid in the central rail of the door.
