Comtoise cock clock from the Louis XVI period, circa 1792/93. Double-row brass clasp set with flowers and a Gallic cock above an emblem with 3 Bourbon lilies. Compare clock no. 473 CUM. Identical decorative clasp, but with empty emblem of the Directoire. A fine example of an ancien régime decorative clasp, which was modified after a few years and adapted to the new Directoire period with an empty emblem. 8-day movement with verge escapement and lead pendulum. Half hour strike en passant, full hour strike on bell with repeater after 2 minutes. Hour wheel and minute wheel already made of brass. Pendulum guide on the front, pendulum bob (front MS disk soldered onto iron disk on the back) on link chain. Plate-like enamel dial with Roman hour and Arabic quarter hour numerals. Sawed iron hands.
