Comtoise cock clock from the Directoire period ( 1795 - 1799 ). Cast ornamental part with cock and two small lateral eagles above an empty emblem. 8-day movement with verge escapement and lead pendulum. Three-quarter strike ( petite sonnerie ) on 2 bells and full hour strike on bell with repetition after 2 minutes. When the hour strike is triggered, the hammer foot, which sits on a laterally movable axle, is disengaged. Serrated brass hands. Cambered enamel dial with Roman hour and Arabic quarter hour numerals.
