Comtoise cock clock from the Directoire period ( 1795 - 1799 ). Double-row brass ornamental clasp with flowers and a Gallic cock above an empty emblem. Compare clock no. 472 CUM. A fine example of an ancien régime decorative clasp, which was adapted to the new Directoire period by replacing the original emblem with 3 fleurs-de-lis with an empty emblem. 8-day movement with verge escapement and lead pendulum. Brass hour wheel and minute wheel. Half hour strike en passant, full hour strike on bell with repeater after 2 minutes. Cambered enamel dial with Roman hour and Arabic quarter hour numerals. Brass hands.
