Comtoise eagle clock from the period of the 1st Empire ( 1804-1815 ). Cast ornamental part with eagle and two small lateral eagles above an empty medallion, framed by the union chain ( chaîne de l'union ) 8-day movement with verge escapement and lead pendulum. Half hour strike en passant and full hour strike with repetition after 2 minutes on bell. Sun hands as found on the first clocks with embossed decorative plates. Rarely found version of a cambered enamel dial with Arabic hour and Arabic quarter hour numerals.
