Nr. 126 CUM
9-inch Comtoise clock from the Restoration period, around 1815/1820. Equipped with a verge escapement and a lead pear-shaped pendulum. Features a half-hour strike en passant and a full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Decorative elements include a radiant sun face (Apollo head with ribbon), two small angels on the left and right, and a central angel over a globe between acanthus motifs.
The dial features arcaded minute markings (à la Dauphine) and polychrome floral decorations.
Early form of sun-shaped hands with punched embellishments. The dial was later fixed to the mounting plate using small triangular metal strips riveted to the backing.
