9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from the year 1838, featuring a sun head motif (Apollo head) and ribbon bow.
Half-hour and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition.
In the center, below crossed acanthus leaves and wheat ears as well as lateral vine leaves and grapes: HORA FUGIT. The hour passes (see illustration Nr. 146 CUM).
Enamel dial with arcaded minute track (à la Dauphine) signed: Chavin à Grenoble 1838. Chavin signed all clocks he sold with annual dates (see illustrations Nr. 32 CUM + Nr. 119 CUM + Nr. 132 CUM).
