10-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1850/55. One-piece, deeply embossed decorative plate made of stamped brass sheet. Due to the almost 3 cm high relief, the plate cracked during the stamping process, specifically at the underside of the right knee, the left leg of the man, and the edge of the jug (see detailed photos from two different perspectives). However, the stamped piece was not discarded due to these defects; instead, it was skillfully reinforced from the back with brass sheet and then delivered to the customer in this form.
