No. 544 CUM 10-inch Comtoise month clock ( 9-inch wide cage ) with verge escapement and folded pendulum, half and full hour strike on bell with repetition of the hour strike. Alarm movement. Enamel dial signed: Bailly à St.André de Cubzac. Star hands. Two-part embossed decorative plate with lower extension with motif *Temptation*. Two angels are dancing, but the fun-loving dancing young girl is simultaneously threatened by the two demons at the top left and right, namely Death and the Devil, who want to tempt her. Two embossing tools were necessary for this decorative plate, as the depiction of the pediment had already been massively extended beyond the beading, which is still partially present, into the two upper corners of the dial. It was therefore no longer possible to obtain the two upper decorative sheet metal corners as lower part corners by cutting them off at the bead and rotating them by 180° degrees. The necessary second embossing tool was therefore created with an additional lower strip approx. 3 cm wide, separated by a bead. The second embossing tool thus provided the lower half of the decorative plate, either for the 10-inch month movement or without the lower strip for the 9-inch 8-day movement.  Diameter dial: 220 Cage dimensions: 278 x 249 x 144 HxWxD / Movement dimensions: 417 x 250 x 165 HxWxD / Chimney: 50, Pendulum length: approx. 1280 ( all dimensions in mm )
