10-inch Comtoise clock from the time of Napoleon I, around 1800/1805. Cast brass decoration with a large 12-ray sun face above a small eagle, large C-scrolls, and vine motifs. 8-day rope-driven movement with verge escapement and a lead pear-shaped pendulum. Half-hour and full-hour striking with a 2-minute repetition on a bell. Convex enamel dial with Roman hour numerals and Arabic 15-minute markers. Signed: Claude François Ganval. The sun hands were replaced, as they are approximately 10/20 years younger than the clock.
