Comtoise clock of the Haut-Jura type with 12 enamel cartouches set in a brass cast frame, dating to around 1740. Enamel cartouches with blue Roman hour numerals. Minute track with 5-minute markers. A cartouche dial for a two-hand clock imported from Paris was later mounted on a single-hand Comtoise movement in the Haut-Jura. At the center of the dial, a medallion with a portrait of Louis XV. A royal crown over a globe symbolizes absolute sovereignty. Sawed brass pediment, decorative corners, and winding hole covers. Between the covers, a signature cartouche: LES FRERES IOBEZ. Letters stamped with punches.
Rope-driven movement with verge escapement and lead pear-shaped pendulum, half-hour strike en passant, full-hour strike on a bell without repetition, spindle axis bearing mounted in a bracket. Sawed, three-pronged iron hand.
