Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum, pendulum guide on the back, half and full hour strike beaten from the wheel set ( no half hour strike en passant, which one would actually expect in this period. Three-part embossed decorative plate with small sun head ( ribbon bow ) between acanthus and lateral cornucopias, centered with lion's head and harp. This model is one of the first decorative plates minted between 1810 and 1820. During this period, the enamel dials - Roman numerals with the quarter hours - were usually placed on the decorative plates. On this model, however, the inner thin edge has already been embossed as a small bead, so that the edge of the dial is below the decorative plate. Enamel dial sign. Dubois A DIGNE.
