No. 411 CUM Comtoise clock of the Haut Jura type around 1735/1740, which originally had a brass dial and a sawn brass top, but was then modernized in the period between 1750 and 1760 with the new plate-like enamel dial and the pewter clasp. Such conversions are often found in this period, as white enamel dials that were easier to read were now popular. The pewter clasp, with a little rooster looking ahead and angels blowing trumpets ( Last Judgement ), is not really typical of Comtoise clocks. One would rather expect it on a lantern clock. However, as a cast brass clasp without the central cartouche element, it can be found on Comtoise clocks of this period. 8-day movement with verge escapement (verge arbor mounted in a holder behind the plate), half-hour strike en passant (mounted on the front striking plate) and hour strike on bell (no repeater), alarm movement. Cage dimensions: 235 x 205 x 140 HxWxD
Movement dimensions: 330 x 205 x 150 HxWxD
