9-inch Comtoise clock with enamel dial ring from the time of the Citizen King Louis Philippe, circa 1835.
Bow anchor escapement and lyra pendulum, thread suspension of the pendulum, half-hour and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Striking mechanism released by spring pressure.
Pressed two-piece brass decorative plate with a palmette above a fruit bowl and two flickering dragons. At the corners of the front plate, four stylized octagonal petals on a radiantly striated background. The pressed central part resembles the structure of guilloché dials.
This type of clock features only two types of hands: sun hands with ornate surfaces (see above) or Breguet-style iron hands (see illustration No. 54 CUM).
