Nr. 288 CUM

Small Comtoise alarm clock from around 1835/40. Verge escapement with folded pendulum, two-part pressed decorative plate featuring a sun face, flower bowl, and acanthus leaves, with a ray-textured background and five-pointed stars. Enamel dial signed: Lagoutte à Chalons S,S. (sur Sâone). Breguet steel hands. Enamel dials were not specifically ordered to match certain movements but were mounted even if, in some cases, inscriptions had to be drilled through. This clock is a good example of that.
