Comtoise clock from the Louis Philippe era, circa 1835/1840, with Grande Sonnerie, 4/4 chime on 4 bells, 3 weights. Hour strike repetition and manual strike suspension via a lever (see detail photos). Displays the date (1-31) and days of the week: LUN (Monday), MAR (Tuesday), MER (Wednesday), JEU (Thursday), VAN (Friday), SAM (Saturday), DIM(Sunday). Two-part brass embossed decorative plate with a sun-head motif (Apollo head), ribbon, palm leaves, and oak leaves. Spindle escapement and domed enamel dial.
