9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1840, two-part embossed decorative front plate with foliage above a medallion, flanked by olive branches. In the four corners, depiction of a lyre framed by laurel wreaths. Normally, this clock model was fitted with the new star hands, which replaced the sun hands from 1840 onwards. In this case, however, very rare sun hands with embossed and ornamented surfaces were used.
Hour striking on bell with repetition of the hour strike. Striking mechanism released by spring pressure, half-hour striking en passant, enamel dial with large polychrome flower above VI.
