10-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1870. Half-hour and full-hour strike on bell with repetition. Enamel dial signed: Fabrique d’horloges Rousseau frères à Avallon. The Rousseau brothers, who ran a clock factory in Avallon, were not the manufacturers of the movement and components but sourced the parts from manufacturers in and around Morez and assembled their models in their own factory.
