Nr. 346 CUM
11-inch Comtoise clock with anchor escapement, pressed pendulum, date display, and moon phase display using a rotating sphere, dating to around 1880/1890. The brass-embossed decorative plate features a cut-out at the top for the moon phase sphere. The base of the sphere is inscribed with: NL Nouveau Lune, PQ Premier Quartier, PL Pleine Lune, and DQ Dernier Quartier. The sphere's drive mechanism is transmitted upwards through the movement cage via a bevel gear differential mechanism connected to the strike train.
The decorative plate and pressed pendulum were manufactured by the company CP Claude Paget. Both the plate and pendulum are found in various designs and combinations (see also clock Nr. 55 CUM).
