Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and pressed pendulum, pendulum with automaton, from around 1880/90.
Half-hour and full-hour strike on a gong with repetition of the full hour strike after 2 minutes. Brass-stamped oval decorative metalwork featuring a lamb in the upper part, marked: ECCE AGNUS DIE, along with C-curves (rocaille), and beneath it a small medallion marked CP. The company Claude Paget was the leading manufacturer of stamped decorative metalwork and pendulums in Morez. The decorative metalwork next to the dial flange at the top left is marked: oval & octagonal 9 & 10, and at the top right marked: Quadrilles à perles.
