11-inch Comtoise 8-day CLOCK with VERGE ESCAPEMENT and FOLDED PENDULUM from around 1845. Two-part decorative plate with flower-fall motif and lower extension. Since there was no separate embossing tool for producing this extension, a second identical decorative plate was cut about 3 cm above the groove through the motif embossing, rotated 180°, and then mounted as the lower decorative plate part. Half- and full-hour striking on bell with repetition of the hour strike. Enamel dial signed: Vassy à Hauterives.
