9-inch Comtoise clock from 1839 with a two-piece embossed decorative plate featuring a sun face, ribbon bow, fruit bowl, acanthus leaves, palm leaves, and cornucopias. Enamel dial with arch-style minute track (à la Dauphine) and elongated strokes for Roman numerals, as they appeared towards the end of the 1830s. In earlier decades, the strokes for Roman numerals were slightly shorter. Pinwheel escapement (Amant) and folded pendulum. Passing strike on the half-hour. Full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Strike mechanism triggered by spring pressure.
