9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from the year 1837. Full hour strike on a bell with repetition after 2 minutes, half-hour strike en passant, two-part pressed decorative plate with sun head and ribbon over a goblet filled with flowers and fruits, flanked on both sides by cornucopias, palm leaves, and acanthus.
In the 4 corners of the dial, there are 8-petaled flowers. Enamel dial signed: Jean Marau 1837. This clock already features doors with embossed motifs, material thickness of 0.7 mm, as was the case with smooth doors and backs of older clocks.
