Nr. 380 CUM
Comtoise with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1835. Full-hour striking on a bell with repetition after 2 minutes, striking mechanism triggered by spring pressure. Half-hour strike en passant, two-part embossed decorative plate featuring a sun face and ribbon above a vase filled with flowers and fruits, flanked by cornucopias, palm leaves, and acanthus. In the four corners of the dial, there are eight-petaled flowers. Enamel dial signed: Boune à Linxe, decorated below XII with an enameled rooster (50mm high and 55mm wide), standing on a beam with flickering lightning bolts. Napoleon’s imperial eagle used to perch on such a beam. But now, the people rule again, represented by the Gallic rooster or the citizen-king Louis Philippe.
