9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1840/45. Half-hour and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Alarm mechanism. Two-piece pressed decorative plate (extremely rare) depicting the goddess of victory distributing laurel wreaths to societal groups supporting the state. To the right, the military, and to the left, the three estates: clergy, nobility, and peasantry/bourgeoisie. Below the goddess of victory is a crowned eagle within a laurel wreath, a clear Napoleonic symbol. The four corners of the dial, each featuring a laurel wreath with a ribbon, are framed by a band with small five-pointed Napoleonic stars.
