11-inch Comtoise clock with central seconds from around 1855/60, pinwheel escapement (Amant), three weights, 4/4 chime on five bells, so-called "Grande Sonnerie," repetition of the hour strike, striking mechanism triggered by spring pressure. Enameled ring with inner glass pane, allowing visibility into the clockwork. Simple gridiron pendulum. Decorative plate with a religious depiction: "Flight into Egypt" (Matthew 2:13-23).
