By adjusting the small hand from R Retard (slow) to A Avance (fast), the length of the pendulum spring is simultaneously altered, making the clock run faster or slower. Main and auxiliary dials are signed: Eugene Papin à Pons. Anchor escapement and lyre pendulum, alarm mechanism, half-hour and full-hour strike with repetition. This clock likely dates from 1870/1880.
