Nr. 359 CUM
11-inch Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and gridiron pendulum from the decade 1870/1880. Half-hour and hour strike on a bell with repetition. Embossed decorative plate depicting a grape harvest, marked on the left: la vendange 9 & 10, and on the right: F on F se GP? Fabrication Française GP. Gaudard Paget? is presumed to be the manufacturer. This decorative plate is not gilded, so both the front and back show signs of oxidation. This difference is clearly visible compared to the gilded decorative plate of clock Nr. 358 CUM.
Both the 10-inch (pouces) and the 11-inch (pouces) decorative plates were made using the same embossing tool. The 11-inch version was always produced, and when a 10-inch clockwork required this design, the lower edge of approximately 5 cm in width was cut accordingly.
