Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and simple grid pendulum (with embossed decorative element). Half-hour and full-hour chime on a bell with repetition. Moon phase and date display from the decade between 1870 and 1880. The moon disc with four moon symbols is switched four times a month by pins on the date wheel, so that one symbol appears in the window for 7.5 days. To minimize inaccuracies in the moon phase display, the date wheel has 30 teeth, as the lunar cycle is approximately 29.5 days.
