Haute-Saône Comtoise clock with dial and fronton made of pewter from the Louis XV period, around 1740/1750. Fronton crowned with a small rooster and decorated with the typical C-scrolls of the Rococo style. 8-day rope-driven movement with anchor escapement, anchor spanning 3 1/2 teeth. Pendulum guidance at the back within the cage, spacers, and suspension loop for the movement. Striking mechanism with rack striking—a scythe rack—and repetition (2nd release pin) of the hour strike on a bell, lifting pins for the hammer foot, no star wheel. Pewter dial with Roman hour numerals and Arabic quarter markers. Signed on the pewter fronton: C A DAUTEL A PLOMBIERS.
