Nr. 290 CUM

In the book "THE COMTOISE CLOCK" by Gustav Schmitt, 3rd edition, 1983, this clock is illustrated on page 85, figure 46, and described as follows: "Clock with sun face; in the medallion: 3 lilies; medallion crowned and surrounded by acanthus leaves; on the sides 2 little angels; period: Restoration (1815-1830); clock with the longest known pendulum length: 2110 mm; (Heuft Collection)."

This 9-inch clock, which has been hanging in the Comtoise Clock Museum since 2009, is of interest to the museum for two reasons. On one hand, because of the exceptionally long pendulum length, and on the other, due to its condition as a marriage clock. Only the crowned medallion with 3 lilies points to the Restoration period, whereas the movement with the dial and hands originates from the Louis XV era around 1760/65.
