9-inch Comtoise clock with pinwheel escapement (amant) and folded pendulum from around 1825/30, featuring the very common cornucopia motif. Embossed decorative plate composed of three parts. Since the base of the cup extends into the embossing of the bezel, the upper corners of two embossing parts were cut off, and of the resulting four corners, only two were mounted as lower corners. Alarm mechanism, half-hour strike, and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Enamel dial with arcaded minute track (à la Dauphine) and indication of quarter hours, signed: Veyron à St. Etienne. Polychrome floral painting in typical metal oxide colors.
