9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1820/25. Half-hour and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition of the hour strike—executed from the wheelwork, no half-hour strike en passant—strike release triggered by spring pressure. Alarm mechanism. Two-piece pressed decorative plate with a sunburst above a goblet and two lashing dragons. Enamel dial with Roman hour numerals and small Arabic minute numerals in five-minute increments. This dial design is the truly rare feature of this clock.
