No. 321 CUM

9-inch Comtoise clock from the Charles X period, circa 1825, with verge escapement and folded pendulum, three-part pressed decorative plate with oak leaves and pinecones, enamel dial with small Roman hour numerals and quarter-hour markings, signed: Jean Roche à Thiers (see also clock No. 47 CUM - same signature and motif).
Rare, large striking mechanism lever system located at the bottom of the movement cage for activating the hour strike and repetition. Large sector rack on the left, mounted on the movement pillars. See similar construction in clock No. 94 CUM. The originally present half-hour passing strike was removed.
